Overview

Join us for the 2026 Inclusive Excellence Summer Assembly! This year's program will showcase inclusive teaching strategies, share resources on improving equity and access in your classrooms, and offer a forum for discussing the challenges we face teaching during turbulent times. Sessions will feature the work of our QILT Faculty Fellows in Pedagogical Innovation, Ruby ElKharboutly and Iddrisu Awudu, and this year's recipients of the Saulnier Family Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Faculty Fund, Karen Majeski and Steph Miller. As always, you'll be able to network, reflect, and debrief with one another. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

8:45 - 9:30 a.m.: Breakfast, Networking, and Welcome

9:30 - 11:20 a.m.: Block One: QILT Faculty Fellows in Pedagogical Innovation Classroom Experience: Ruby ElKharboutly and Iddrisu Awudu 

11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.: Conversations that matter: Navigating Heated, Offensive & Tense (HOT) moments on a college campus, featuring a student performance of excerpts from Eleanor Burgess’s acclaimed play The Niceties.

12:30 - 1:15 p.m.: Lunch, Networking, and Resource Sharing

1:20 - 3:10 p.m.: Block Two: Saulnier Family Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Faculty Fund Classroom Experience: Karen Majeski and Steph Miller

3:10 - 4:00 p.m.: Reflection and Debrief

4:00 p.m.: Provost's Reception, On the Rocks Pub
